Home: About Me

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

My name is Karsen Ward and I am a freshman in the Academic Leadership Academy at Chapin High School.  I am a very quiet but hardworking student and person.  With every task I am assigned to do, I try to push myself to give it my best effort.  I am constantly challenging myself both inside and outside of school, with the goal to eventually become a teacher.  This way, I will hopefully reach my goal someday, but if sometime in the future my goal changes, or if I am unable to reach it, my options will remain open and I can still be successful.

One way I have challenged myself is by becoming a student in the ALA program at CHS.  In this program, my peers and I are encouraged to develop superior leadership skills that we can carry with us for the rest of our lives.  With every unit we learn, we are pushed to think deeper and recognize the leadership involved either in understanding the unit or in the unit itself.  I am really excited to see how ALA will benefit me in the future and how the extra knowledge I gain through it will help me throughout the rest of my life.

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

-Robert Collier
